Amalie Gabel, 1992,

Lives and works in Copenhagen and Hamburg

I am educated at Hochschule für Bildende Kunste Hamburg, during that time I have been working with space, light and movement through painting. By drawing on curatorial knowledge as well as poetry, and performativity I build three dimensional paintings. An important aspect is the element of seeing/not seeing, been seen and being hidden as part of the visitor experience. I incorporate this in my large scale works like The Perpetual Host as well as in smaller scale like artist books, using the pages as a labyrinth. In October 2019. I will begin my studies at Royal College of Art in London, at the Ma Painting department.
